Every season, there's a moment when your home starts to feel a little stale — the light changes, the weather turns, and last season's decor is still hanging around. Here's the refresh routine we swear by. It takes one afternoon, and it works every time.
Step 1: The pillow swap (15 minutes)
Pillows are the fastest seasonal signal in any room. Trade summer brights for autumn rust and plaid, or winter textures for spring pastels. Our decorative pillows are made for exactly this rotation — keep two sets and you'll never get bored of your sofa again.
Step 2: One throw, moved with intent (5 minutes)
Fold a knit throw over the arm of the chair you actually use, or layer one at the foot of the bed. In warmer months, switch to your lightest weave. Same pieces, new placement, new feeling.
Step 3: The entryway moment (10 minutes)
Your entryway sets the tone for the whole home. Swap in one seasonal fabric figure — a harvest gnome, a holiday character, a spring bunny — next to a small dish or plant. Guests notice. So will you, every time you come home.
Step 4: The table centerpiece (10 minutes)
Clear the dining table completely, then add back three things: something tall, something soft, something seasonal. A small tabletop tree, a plush pumpkin, a plaid runner — done.
Then stop
The secret to a refresh is restraint. Four swaps, then put the storage bin away and enjoy it. Next season, we do it all again.
