People sometimes ask how we decide which pieces make it into the shop. There is no mystery to it — and no big design team either. We look at a lot of seasonal decor, and most of it doesn't make the cut. Here is what we actually look for.
1. Texture you can see
A decorative pillow lives or dies by its surface. Embroidery, chunky knits, pom-pom trim, woven plaid — texture is what makes a plain sofa look layered instead of flat. If a piece looks flat in a product photo, it will look flat in your living room, so we skip it.
2. Priced for swapping
Seasonal decor only works if changing it doesn't feel like a commitment. A pumpkin in October, plaid at the holidays, florals in spring — that rhythm falls apart if every piece is expensive. Most of what we sell sits between $4.99 and $29.99, so swapping two or three pieces when the season turns stays an easy decision.
3. Pretty, and actually soft
A pillow you don't want to lean on is just an obstacle you move before sitting down. We favor pieces you'd genuinely use — a throw that gets pulled over legs, a cushion that earns its spot — not props that only photograph well.
4. Small footprint, big effect
Most homes don't need more furniture. They need a few well-chosen small things: a figure on the shelf, a different pillow on the reading chair, a folded throw where there wasn't one. That is the kind of decor we stock, because that is the kind that actually changes how a room feels.
That's the whole method. Browse the pillows, throws, and fabric figures and you'll see these four rules at work.
